Graduate Club

Financial Statement Analysis and Securities Valuation Association or FSASVA is an independent, student-managed club on Baruch College campus. It is Baruch College's Student Chapter of the New York Society of Security Analysts better known as NYSSA.

As the name suggests, FSASVA focuses on analyzing financial statements and the valuation of securities. FSASVA has grown considerably since its launch in 2010 and is expected to attract even more students as the club evolves over time.

Our mission is to introduce members to the world of investing, amplify their understanding of various investment strategies and provide real world experience, which together with the challenging school curriculum would propel them to the higher echelons of the financial industry. We plan to achieve this through weekly educational meetings that provide knowledge of the quantitative fundamentals and trading methodologies of underlying financial investments.

Our forums provoke new ideas and discussions that provide hands-on educational experience of testing various investing philosophies and series of guest speaker events by industry professionals that would prepare our members for the rigors of the workplace.  In addition, we provide networking opportunities for members that help develop their analytical, decision-making, and teamwork skills. Through collaboration, we enhance the ability of our members to understand the principles of investing and apply this knowledge to become more effective disciplined investors.
